Our Café is a contemporary style Café located 13 kms from Assi Ghat Varanasi on Chitaipur Chunar Road. The Café is located inside Namastay Varanasi, a rural boutique hotel in a Village. The Café overlooks a beautiful pool and is decorated with lots of handpicked local crafts and artefacts. The walls are decorated with antique paintings and photos and are like an art gallery with every section having beautifully placed planters and creeps coming down from shelves which is soothing to see around. The Café also has an outside dining area on the poolside with Cane Chairs and a view at the Green lawns and ample fruit trees around.
The Café staff comprises of local women from deprived section of society who have been trained for a sustainable living through the art of culinary. The Café has a beautiful and cosy Library Lounge with excellent selection of books on Banaras or Varanasi.
It also boasts a reading table with books dedicated to spices having a spice box as reference next to it. Tea lovers will appreciate our "make your own Tea" counter with exquisite selection of Teas from around the world like the finest of Darjeeling, Kashmiri Kahwa or Rose Tea.
The Café is runned by the owner of Sparrow Café, Cultural Café located on Assi Ghat Varanasi, which is decorated with crafts from across the country. The colorful Café was covered in Nat Geo Magazine and organises various kinds of musical programs.
The food is a mix of continental and Indian recipes and most ingredients we use either grow in house or are sourced from nearby organic farms. We serve a fixed menu which keeps changing as per the availability of the vegetables in our garden and also the stock available with local farmers. The food preparation style is “Slow Food” ensuring a tasty yet very nutritious meal. Our Guests also have the choice of going for the A La Carte Menu. Sparrow Café is a completely vegetarian Restaurant and alcohol is neither served nor encouraged within. A reservation is mandatory.
